Dr. YOLANDA OLAYA, PsyD, LCPC, is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood and adolescent challenges such as anxiety, mood disorders, attention deficits, executive functioning deficits, crisis intervention/management, and trauma. On the other end of the age spectrum, she also provides assessment and treatment to women with peripartum mood disorders.
Dr. Olaya also has a masters degree in Public Health and has been working in the field over 30 years. This work has specifically been with HIV positive women, their children, and GLBTQ youth. In the last eight years, she has developed a passion for working with first responders and family members of first responders by providing compassionate, supportive services and evaluations as needed.
Psychological Assessment and Evaluations Conducted by Dr. Olaya include:
- Comprehensive mental health assessments,
- Cognitive psychological assessments,
- Personality assessments,
- Forensic assessments (which includes immigration evaluations, pre employment
- assessments, fitness for duty evaluations, unfit to stand trial, not guilty by reason of
- insanity, and other risk assessments), and
- Attention deficient/ hyperactivity disorder evaluations.
Dr. Olaya also provides supervision to Masters level and Doctoral students. She has also published research in the area of Public Health and the elimination of perinatal HIV transmission, and continues to conduct research in the area of mental health among vulnerable populations.
